HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Officials from the City of Hillsboro announced they secured a deal to bring minor league baseball to the city.

The Yakima Bears, a Northwest League team, will move from their current home to Hillsboro next year. Officials said there will be a special city council meeting at 4:30 p.m. June 26 to finalize terms, including a conditional lease agreement between the two sides.

City officials still need to get more signatures to finalize the deal, but they don't anticipate any problems in securing those signatures.

If all goes to the plan of city officials, the baseball team begin play in June of 2013.
