Gluten Intolerance Deniers | New Health and Fitness

New Health And Fitness.Org - Health Information You Can Use

Whenever it comes to any food allergy, sensitivity or intolerance, there are always individuals who?ll deny that it?s actually real. Gluten intolerance isn?t any different. Sadly, you will find that there are people who will deny that such a problem actually exists. You will meet individuals who believe that it?s all in your mind.

Although some individuals are merely ignorant about celiac disease and can easily be corrected, others may have a condescending and dismissive attitude about it. These folks might even accuse you of being an excessively dramatic, attention-seeking hypochondriac. They of course don?t have any serious food allergic reactions themselves and since they don?t have such allergies they just can?t comprehend someone else having them. In other words, they?re restricted in their worldview to their own personal experiences: If they don?t have trouble with it, then they just can?t comprehend other people having a trouble with it. Or, if someone does have a problem with it, they believe that such a person must have a weak constitution or perhaps be doing something peculiar to bring it on themselves.

This denial of what you suffer when it comes to gluten intolerance (or any other food allergy) can be about as frustrating as anything you will encounter in this life. These kinds of people are just as likely to try to talk a child with a peanut allergy into eating peanuts. They just don?t understand it, accept it or take it seriously. They may even think that the only cure for a food allergy is for someone to just force themselves to eat it and deal with it.

Don?t lose your temper when this happens. It?s far better to just walk away if it all possible. If not possible then giving some materials about the subject may possibly help them recognize that gluten intolerance is definitely a real and extremely serious ailment that effects at a lot of people.

Ultimately, the time when food allergy deniers are at their worst, is during holiday gatherings. On such occasions, such people may even try to force gluten on you (?c?mon, it?s the holidays, it?s won?t kill you to have some of grandma?s pie). Again, these people (who may be perfectly wonderful people otherwise) don?t really believe that gluten intolerance is even a real problem, or, at best, they may consider it a trivial problem which you?re making too big a deal out of. They may even think that your entire aversion to gluten intolerance is just some fad, a new age philosophy, or at least a weight loss diet. This is simply ignorance on their part. They simply have no idea just how harmful gluten can be for your body. Be strong, stand your ground and never give in to this intimidation and peer pressure. You simply must demand that people respect your gluten-free needs and not pester you about it.

Dealing with a food allergy is hard enough but in addition to the allergy is the hassle of gluten intolerance deniers.
