Christina Applegate in Talks for Vacation

This ?Vacation? has one more passenger: Christina Applegate.

The reboot of the classic comedy franchise stars Ed Helms as Rusty Griswold, son of Clark (played in the original movies by Chevy Chase). According to the Hollywood Reporter, Applegate has signed on to play Rusty?s strong-willed wife ?who might be losing interest in him.?

Applegate?s schedule is more open to movie projects now that her NBC series, ?Up All Night,? has been canceled. She?s currently shooting ?Anchorman: The Legend Continues? with Will Ferrell.

The new ?Vacation? will chronicle the roadtripping misadventures of Helms and Applegate?s family. ?Horrible Bosses? writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are scripting and directing the movie.

But will Grandpa Griswold be tagging along? There?s still no word on whether Chase will make a cameo in the reboot.
