Sporting KC's Kronberg out with back injury

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Eric Kronberg is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks because of a lower back injury.

The club announced the injury Thursday after Sporting KC beat the U.S. Under-17 National Team 4-1 in a preseason exhibition game.

Kronberg is 28 and going into his seventh season with the club. He had 10 saves in four Major League Soccer appearances last year, including his first career shutout in a scoreless draw at Toronto.

Sporting Kansas City opens the season March 10 against D.C. United at RFK Stadium.
